New trucks are making a mark on our future

Within the last couple of weeks Neill & Brown has welcomed the addition of two Volvo FH4 Euro 6 trucks to our fleet of continental vehicles. This is the beginning of a considerable investment which sees us committed to the acquisition of 35 new trucks over the next 5 years.

A rested driver is a more efficient driver. We like to look after our drivers and these new cabs provide increased comfort with a larger cab and an improved driving position. The new improved cab encourages more natural light and has a wider bed for a more relaxed night’s sleep. And for those unfortunate inclement days, there is even a drying cupboard so our drivers can ensure a dryer start to the following day.

Always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and run a more efficient fleet of vehicles, the Volvo FH4 is Euro 6 certified which means that it adheres to strict European emission levels and also has the most up to date fuel efficient engine and gear shift. Along with this comes the latest technology with Volvo’s ‘I-See’; after the first journey the Volvo FH recalls information about gradients and hills to manage speed and gear changes automatically for maximum efficiency. Even if the truck has not travelled on a certain route before the ‘I-See’ function downloads the information via GPS and cloud technology to allow the truck to make the most of the hill’s kinetic energy and passes this information to the engine’s transmission. This impressive feature alone can save up to 5% on fuel.
