A little about yourself…
I’m born and bred in East Yorkshire and have lived in and around Driffield for my whole life. Now the wrong side of 50, I’m married to Paula and we have three grown up children who we are immensely proud of. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I left school and fell into accountancy when my father asked his accountant if there were any jobs going. I qualified in 1989 and then spent a large part of my career in financial services. I joined Neill & Brown in 2010 which proved to be an excellent decision and I am so pleased to see the company go from strength to strength in its centenary year.
Star likes
Hull: As a child I remember the Humber Bridge being constructed and what an iconic structure. I really hope the glass lift is approved as it will be an amazing attraction for visitors of the City.
Music: I enjoy most music to be honest and usually have Magic FM on the radio in the car where I can sing along to some 80’s tunes.
Hobby: My main hobby is sport (mainly watching these days) with the occasional round of golf. We also have three Labradors that we love taking for walks in the countryside.
Food: Yes I like food! My favourite eatery is the Wellington Inn at Lund which is a couple of miles from home. Quality food in a traditional village pub.
Sport: I am a big sports fan particularly cricket and football. I’ve been supporting the Tigers since 1977 so have experienced the highs and lows but more recently some great times. My favourite game was Yeovil away in 2004 when we clinched the promotion which really kick started the rise of Hull City. I also made the front page of the ‘Green’ Mail after that game.
And finally, two questions to finish…
If your wishes could be granted, what would you ask for?
Family is very important to me and I just want my children to be happy and fulfil their dreams.
Which celebrity would you like to meet?
Peter Kay – I think he is extremely talented and I really enjoy the characters and shows he has created. We have even called our two new Labrador pups ‘Max’ and ‘Paddy’.
