A few words from Michelle Cartwright, warehouse manager.
Our Continental drivers are quite close and a good bunch. When they’re working abroad they all look after each other. My husband Glenn is one of them and I find it really nice when he texts me and says what a good weekend he has had with great company (referring to other Neill & Brown drivers). It gives me peace of mind when he is long way from home that he is with others and not alone in a strange country.
When three of the drivers did a bike ride for Help for Heroes and raised more than £9,000, Peter and family could not have done anymore to support the lads. They turned up at all the fundraising events and provided gifts for raffle prizes as well as supporting them financially. Peter got broken fingers for his efforts. He was presented with a framed Help for Heroes shirt. When putting the frame in the car, the boot was slammed down on his fingers breaking them.
I have been at Neill & Brown for eight years starting as admin assistant. I’m now warehouse manager at the Marfleet site. We are a very busy small team all working together and closely with Hessle.
At one of the Christmas parties, I got talking to Peter who asked how we were at Marfleet. I told him fine apart from we could do with another flexi truck. ‘Anything you want Michelle, you can have’ was his reply. It arrived some weeks later and now whenever we are in need of equipment one of the lads always says to me the best time to ask for it is when Peter is in a party mood.
